The world class Menominee River provides the whitewater enthusiast with some of the largest volume rapids in the Midwest, with characteristics similar to those found on the Colorado River. Late in the summer, when other rivers are low, the dam released Menominee River will continue to produce large whitewater and incredible rafting experiences. Due to the size of these class IV rapids, we run our big water, 8-10 person rafts, with a guide in every boat. Menominee River trips are based at the Menominee River Outpost, a relaxing, scenic drive from the Peshtigo River Outpost.

The river trip begins along the gorgeous 200-foot cliffs bordering Michigan and Wisconsin. After a scenic flat water section and a few smaller rapids, you will pull over to scout the famous rapids of Piers Gorge. The adrenaline will start pumping as you scout the rapids and plan your approach. You’ll go back to your boat with your guide for your first of two runs through Piers Gorge. After we shoot the rapids, we’ll take a short hike back to the top of Piers Gorge and run the rapids again. Younger children and less adventurous individuals will enjoy the entertainment as they observe the others in their group running this amazing section of whitewater. This trip is appropriate for all skill levels, so bring the whole family.

Complimentary River Tubing

The morning Menominee River whitewater rafting trip has the additional bonus of an optional, complimentary river tube ride. At the end of the trip, you will have the option of taking a short shuttle back to the Menominee River Outpost or jumping in a tube for relaxing float back to Bombers Golf course.

This tube ride is only available after the 10:00 am Menominee River trip and guests must indicate their interest in the tube ride when checking in for their trip. If you have a PM trip scheduled at the Peshtigo River outpost, you may be advised not to take this ride. The ride will take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half, so schedule accordingly.
