SPRING PESHTIGO - WWR location
High Water

Beat the winter blues and go for the High Adventure of Spring Rafting on the Peshtigo. April and May run off of snow and deep frost results in periods of unusually high and exciting whitewater. These challenging conditions reach a level of CLASS IV! Spring trips are usually run in our larger six to eight man rafts with an experienced guide steering your boat. Deep holes, reversals and standing waves are common for this 5 miles of non-stop action. The water is swift so the miles go by fast. You can enjoy a full day of Big Water Action all spring by taking advantage of our Instant Replay special. Be sure to bring a synthetic or wool sweater, socks and long underwear. Wetsuits may be required and are available to rent.

CHECK IN AN HOUR EARLY TO GEAR UP FOR THE TRIP.

All trips include approved life jacket, helmet, paddle, transportation, safety orientation and guide services.

Wetsuits, paddle jackets booties and gloves are available to rent.

SUMMER PESHTIGO - WWR location

Wildman Whitewater Ranch offers a variety of specialty self baling rafts and state of the art Inflatable Kayaks to insure your two or three hour summer ride on the Peshtigo is the best for the existing water levels and river conditions. Our shuttle bus takes you upstream to the “put in” where you will experience all of the whitewater action of the famous “Roaring rapids” of the Peshtigo River. This is the longest continuous stretch of rapids in the Midwest. Granite rock formations and spectacular scenery are encountered along the tree-lined shores of the river. You will ride many class III rapids with names like Five Foot Falls, Toothache, and Veg-o-matic. The ranch has private access to the river frontage along the rapids. This means that you can hike and scout the rapids before you go rafting. Our private landing by the rapids allows you to re run the most exciting rapids without trespassing! During summer periods of low water levels you can spend more “playtime” in the rapids and take out at the Ranch, avoiding the rocky section downstream. At higher water levels when the rocks are underwater, we run the riffles past the Ranch to our lower take out. Our summer escort guides will lead the way as you paddle down river. All our Peshtigo trips are appropriate for first timers.

MENOMINEE RIVER - Wildman Great Outdoors location
Piers Gorge

The world class Menominee River provides the Whitewater enthusiast with some of the LARGEST VOLUME RAPIDS IN THE MIDWEST, with characteristics similar to those found on the Colorado River. Due to the size of these CLASS IV rapids we run our BIG WATER 6-10 person rafts with a guide in every boat. Menominee River trips are based at Wildman Great Outdoors a short scenic drive from Wildman Ranch. The river trip begins along the gorgeous 200-foot cliffs bordering Michigan and Wisconsin. Down river you will encounter the famous rapids of Piers Gorge. We will have a second boat positioned just above the rapids. After we shoot the rapids we take a short hike back to the top of Piers Gorge and run the rapids again with the second boat. The younger children and less adventurous individuals will enjoy the entertainment as they observe the others in their group running Piers gorge two times. Once we have finished with the rapids you have the choice to complete the trip back to WILDMAN GREAT OUTDOORS with a beverage and a 10-mimiute pontoon ride,or take FREE Lazy River Tube Ride back to our facility.
